Epson To End the Sale and Distribution of Laser Printer

Japanese electronics printer manufacturer Epson said this month it would cease selling and distribution laser printer hardware after 2026. This was due to sustainability issues. Report: The company claims that inkjets are more likely than laser printers (and can make significant advances for the environment). While the company has already stopped laser printer sales in some markets, it continued to sell in Asia and Europe. Epson stated that even though the new hardware will not be available everywhere, it will continue to provide support for consumers by providing spare parts and consumables.

Koichi Kubota, Epson marketing and sales manager said that inkjets use less energy. Epson Heat-Free inkjet technology uses mechanical energy to ignite ink onto a page. Laser printers heat and fuse toner.
