Quandum Aerospace tests Zortrax resin 3D printing ecosystem

Quandum AerospaceSpanish company, Optoelectronics, is one of the first to use Zortrax’s Powerful Trio resin 3D-printing ecosystem.

The company has been a long-time user of Zortrax 3D printers. As such, was trusted to be the first to test Zortrax Powerful Trio. It consists of Inkspire 2 UVLC 3D Printer as well as Zortrax Cleaning Station (post-processing device) and Zortrax Curing Station.

Quandum Aerospace utilized the new ecosystem in order to manufacture medical device parts that had been ordered by one its customers.

Rafael Rodríguez Rosas, Chief Technology Officer at Quandrum, said: “We’ve been working with this system for a month, and I can say with confidence that this is one of the best 3D printing solutions Zortrax has ever created. The system is easy to use, reliable, quick, precise and fast. The ability to effectively handle high-end resins with great efficiency is a major advantage. Such materials have the potential to become a viable alternative for high-performance FDM polymers in aerospace, medical and military applications.”

Zortrax claims that the company received favorable feedback from Quandum about the new ecosystem. Quandum, the company stated that they were impressed by the way the systems work together.

Quandum claimed that Zortrax Inkspire 2 could be used to produce large quantities of prototypes or small-scale manufacturing. According to Quandum, the factory calibration of the platform and the resin control system made it possible for large-part fabrication.

Zortax Cleaning Station is part of the ecosystem. It lifts models out of the cleaning fluid when the process has ended. Quandum declared that Zortrax Curing Station is the last step of the solution.

“Feedback on the Zortrax Powerful Trio we get from Quandum and many others is very encouraging to say the least. This new line-up is popular with users. They find it to be efficient, solid, and simple to use. That’s what we aimed for. Now we know that’s what we delivered,” said Mariusz Babula, CEO of Zortrax.
